About the Journey

My name is Caltha Seymour. My dream is to go to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. My event is the hammer throw. I know what you're thinking, "Why would anyone throw the hammer?" Believe me, I ask myself that sometimes too; but it's not that kind of hammer.

The Olympic hammer throw is perhaps one of the most difficult sporting events anyone can do; actually it is one of the most technical events in track and field. But I'm good and I have the burning desire to become one of the best in the world.

The journey to the Games starts long before the opening ceremonies. It takes hard work, dedication, support and funding. When you finish browsing my website, I hope you will decide to support my efforts. The opportunity to represent my country, Jamaica, would mean so much to me and my family.

The motto for the 2008 Beijing Olympics is One World One Dream. I have one dream, to walk into the Olympic stadium and give my best effort at winning a medal. I have the passion and dedication. Now, I just need your support to make my dream come true.
